Ear Stapling FAQs

We try to anticipate questions you might have about our service and provide the answers here. If you need additional information send an e-mail to: incrediblestaple@yahoo.com

What is ear stapling?

A tiny surgical stainless steel staple is positioned in the inner cartilage of the ear to target specific ear reflex points, leading to weight loss, stress and tension alleviation, smoking cessation, and other reported benefits as well.

How does the staple work?

The staple works by applying pressure to the ear reflex point in the ear. It sends a signal to the brain that you are satisfied and eliminates cravings for food, sugar, and tobacco.

How long does it last?

It can last from 2 to 3 months, but is very individualized. As long as the staple is applying adequate pressure to the ear reflex point it will be effective until your body gets used to the stimulant and the staple has to be removed and replaced. We recommend 7 to 10 days before replacing.

What Is the average weight loss?

Our clients have reported; for women, 3-4 pounds a week and men 5 pounds a week. Those who are serious and add a healthy diet and exercise to their regimen may see much greater results. We have an 85-90% success rate with our clients for weightloss and 80% for smoking.

Does it hurt?

It is compared to having your ears pierced. Some say that it hurts for a few minutes and then subsides, and others say it does not hurt at all. Once again, each person is different in how they respond to the staple.

One staple or two?

We believe that getting both ears stapled has shown much greater results and recommend this for all our clients. We have found that one ear is more effective than the other, and those who get one staple return for a second one. Your chances for the staple working most effectively is to get both ears done.

What are the risks?

With proper care of the staple there are limited risks involved. As with any piercing there is a risk of infection associated with it, even if sterile technique is followed scrupulously. Bacteria is almost always the culprit from contact during aftercare, typically not from the procedure itself. Good hand washing is first and foremost in the prevention of infection in any wound care.

How to care for your staples?

It is recommended that you keep your staples clean twice a day with the ear care solution provided to you at the time of the piercing. After bathing gently take a Q-tip and dry the ends of the staple. You are given a more detailed description for the care of your staples at the time of your appointment.
